Soutien à des projets stratégiques (continu)

L’université est régulièrement amenée à soutenir des projets permettant de mieux positionner notre université dans le paysage de la recherche que ce soit au niveau régional, communautaire, fédéral ou international. Sans être exhaustif, le but de ce programme est d’aider un groupe de chercheurs ou une entité (unité de recherche, institut, …) à participer à un réseau, à développer une collaboration, à structurer des activités de recherche ou à donner de la visibilité à des initiatives jugées stratégiques pour l’université.

ERC Plus Grant Call 2026 (Full-proposal : 02/09/2026)

The new funding scheme, ERC Plus Grants, is planned to support outstanding researchers from Europe and anywhere in the world with bold ideas and a vision for transformative research that goes beyond the scope of existing ERC programmes.
The funding for this new grant scheme was announced by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in her speech of 5 May 2025 on the ‘Choose Europe’ initiative.
The ERC Plus Grant supports outstanding principal investigators who address major scientific challenges. Applications for ERC Plus Grants should be for projects that could not be carried out with a regular ERC grant. Applicants should explain how the proposed project goes beyond the scope of a regular ERC project, for example because it aims to transform the field or open new avenues of research.
Applicants should be aware that every year, only some 30 ERC Plus Grants can be awarded across all fields and all career stages, compared to approximately 1 000 Starting, Consolidator and Advanced Grants. This level of competitiveness should be taken into account when considering whether to submit an application.

IRIS COFUND postdoctoral fellowships – 2nd CALL OPEN (Full-proposal : 30/06/2026)

The programme period will take place between 2025 and 2030 and will open two calls, each offering 18 positions (12 at ULB and 6 at VUB) open to all fields of research, according to a bottom-up approach. During the fellowship, IRIS postdocs will benefit from an environment that fosters academic growth and well-being. Fellows will engage in optional secondments and short visits, take part in the IRIS management committee, and have 30 months to fully carry out their interdisciplinary research projects.
IRIS’s research programme hinges on two themes: interdisciplinarity and the six societal challenges of the Brussels-Capital Region (BCR). IRIS fellows' research projects will exemplify solutions in the applied context of the BCR but are intrinsically linked to ubiquitous European needs, thereby preparing the participating researchers European-wide career options.

Pré-appel ARC 2027 (Prochaine deadline: 31/12/2026‎|‎ Internal deadline)

Les appels Crédits et Projets du FNRS sont désormais ouverts.
Cette année, les dossiers soumis dans le cadre des appels Crédits et Projets du FNRS de 2024, 2025 et 2026 seront éligibles à l’appel ARC 2027 (Actions de Recherche Concertées). Sont concernés uniquement les projets PDR, MIS, EQP et IISN ayant obtenu une évaluation globale minimum de « A- »
Des informations complémentaires concernant les critères d’éligibilité, les échéances et les modalités de soumission de l’appel ARC 2027 seront communiquées au début de l’année académique 2026-2027.

Appel crédits et projets 2026 (Prochaine deadline: 07/07/2026/ promoteur principal à 14h - heure belge)

L'appel Crédits & Projets qui concerne les instruments CDR, PDR, EQP, MIS et IISN est ouvert sur e-space.
Il se refermera le 7 juillet 2026 à 14h (heure locale de Bruxelles).
FNRS propose, pour ce nouvel appel, trois types de demandes possibles pour les projets PDR. Une collaboration dans le cadre de WEAVE est envisageable dans chacun des trois cas. Il est essentiel de sélectionner correctement l’intitulé correspondant lors de l'encodage de votre dossier sur "E-Space". Voici les trois options :

1. PDR Mono-Promotion : un seul promoteur affilié à l’ULB. Aucun co-promoteur n’est autorisé. (Une collaboration WEAVE est possible.)
2. PDR Mono-Universitaire : un promoteur et un co-promoteur, tous deux affiliés à l’ULB. La présence d'au moins un co-promoteur est obligatoire. (Une collaboration WEAVE reste possible.)
3. PDR Pluri-Universitaire : une promotrice ou un promoteur de l’ULB, avec au moins une co-promotrice ou un co-promoteur provenant d’une autre institution. (Cette règle reste identique à celle de l’appel précédent. Une collaboration WEAVE est également envisageable.)

⚠️ Veuillez accorder une attention particulière au choix du type de demande lors de la soumission de votre dossier, car celui-ci aura une importance déterminante pour le traitement de votre candidature par le FNRS..
